THE FIGHT/ LA BATTAGLIA
LONG JOHN SILVER WANTS TO TALK/ LONG JOHN SILVER VUOLE PARLARE
In the morning, I heard the Captain shouting: “A white flag! Look! It’s Long John Silver!”
Al mattino, sentii il Capitano gridare: “Una bandiera bianca! Guardate! È Long John Silver!”
“Can I come inside?” shouted Silver. “I want to talk.”
“Posso entrare?” gridò Silver. “Voglio parlare.”
“You can come inside,” said the Captain. “But leave your gun out there.”
“Puoi entrare” disse il Capitano. “Ma lascia la tua pistola là fuori.”
Long John Silver put down his gun. And he climbed over the fence.
Long John Silver posò la pistola. E scavalcò la palizzata.
“You have the treasure map.” said Silver. “But you are only three men- and a boy! And we are fifteen pirates! If we fight, you will lose. Give me the map, and you will return safely to England on the ship, as my prisoners.”
“Avete la mappa del tesoro.” disse Silver. “Ma voi siete solo tre uomini -e un ragazzo! E noi siamo quindici pirati! Se combattiamo, perderete. Datemi la mappa e tornerete sani e salvi in Inghilterra sulla nave, come miei prigionieri.”
“No!” shouted the Captain. “The map is OURS! Silver, you can go!”
“I’m going, I’m going,” said Silver, angrily. “But prepare for a big fight!”
“No!” gridò il Capitano. “La mappa è NOSTRA! Silver, puoi andare!”
“Sto andando, sto andando”, disse Silver, arrabbiato. “Ma preparatevi per una grande battaglia!”
THE FIGHT BEGINS/ LA BATTAGLIA COMINCIA
After Silver left, the Captain was very anxious.
Dopo che Silver se ne fu andato, il Capitano era molto ansioso.
“Doctor, Squire, take your guns and defend the doors and the windows,” he said. “Jim, prepare to help.”
“Dottore, Cavaliere, prendete le vostre pistole e difendete le porte e le finestre”, disse. “Jim, preparati ad aiutare.”
We waited and waited but nothing happened. Suddenly the pirates started to shoot. Then four pirates climbed over the fence and ran to the house.
Aspettammo e aspettammo ma non accadde niente. All’improvviso i pirati iniziarono a sparare. Poi quattro pirati scavalcarono il recinto e corsero alla casa.
“Shoot NOW, ” shouted the Captain. “Or we will die.”
Three of the pirates fell to the ground. But the fourth, Dick, was near the house. Then he saw the three pirates DEAD on the ground!
“Sparate ORA”, gridò il Capitano. “O moriremo.”
Tre dei pirati caddero a terra. Ma il quarto, Dick, era vicino alla casa. Poi vide i tre pirati MORTI a terra!
“Don’t shoot! I’m going, I’m going,” he shouted. And he turned and ran away.
“Non sparate! Vado, vado”, gridò. E si voltò e corse via.
JIM ESCAPES AFTER THE FIGHT/ JIM SCAPPA DOPO LA BATTAGLIA
The next day, the Doctor woke up early.
“I’m going to find Ben Gunn,” he said. “I’m taking him some cheese.”
Il giorno dopo, il dottore si svegliò presto.
“Vado a trovare Ben Gunn”, disse. “Gli porto del formaggio.”
And he climbed over the fence and disappeared into the trees.
Suddenly, I had an idea.
E scavalcò la palizzata e scomparve tra gli alberi.
Improvvisamente, ebbi un’idea.
“I’ll capture the ship!”I thought. “But first I must find the Doctor’s boat!”
I put some food and a small gun in my pocket.
“Catturerò la nave!” pensai. “Ma prima devo trovare la barca del Dottore!”
Misi del cibo e una piccola pistola in tasca.
And I, too, climbed over the fence. But I didn’t tell ANYONE where I was going.
E anch’io scavalcai la palizzata. Ma non dissi a NESSUNO dove stavo andando.
I walked and walked for a very long time. Finally I found the boat near the white rock. It was night and I was very tired. So I climbed inside and feel asleep.
Camminai e camminai per molto tempo. Finalmente trovai la barca vicino alla roccia bianca. Era notte ed ero molto stanco. Così salii dentro e mi sono addormentai.
JIM SEES THE HISPANIOLA/ JIM VEDE L’HISPANIOLA
When I woke up, it was morning. The sun was shining and the sea was very blue.
Quando mi svegliai, era mattina. Il sole splendeva e il mare era molto azzurro.
Suddenly I saw the Hispaniola. Her big, white sails were up, and she was moving! But I couldn’t see any pirates on the ship.
Improvvisamente ho visto la Hispaniola. Le sue grandi vele bianche erano alzate e lei si muoveva! Ma non sono riuscito a vedere nessun pirata sulla nave.
“This will be easy,” I thought. And I rowed towards the ship in my small boat. I am not a good sailor. And my boat went round and round on the sea in circles.
“Sarà facile”, pensai. E remai verso la nave nella mia piccola barca. Non sono un buon marinaio. E la mia barca cominciò a girare sul mare in cerchi/circoli.
But finally, I got near the Hispaniola. And I climbed on to the ship.
Ma alla fine mi avvicinai alla Hispaniola. E salii sulla nave.
